The first winery built in Napa Valley following the repeal of Prohibition, Merryvale is located in the heart of Napa Valley.
The Antigua is 100% Muscat De Frontignan from vintages 1970 to 1983, and 1992 to 1994. Aged an average of 11 years from French oak barrels and then fortified with fine pot still brandy.
Golden amber in color from its long aging in French oak, the wine is a complex combination of nuts, caramel and orange-peel aromas. Thick and rich in the mouth, the nuts and orange-peel theme continues from the entry through the long finish, highlighted by the many subtleties from the fine brandy and time in the barrel.
The Antigua is delicious on its own or it can be served with cheese or desserts ranging from crme brle to chocolate cake.

メリーベールはアメリカの禁酒法時代が終ってナパバレーの真ん中に初めてできたワイナリー。このアンティグアはマスカット・デ・フロンティグナン100%。1970年から1983年までのヴィンテージに1992年と1994年ヴィンテージをブレンド。フレンチオーク樽で平均11年熟成した後、単式蒸留した優良ブランデーで酒精強化。
フレンチオーク樽での長期熟成から来る輝くような琥珀色。ナッツやキャラメル、オレンジの皮が組み合わさった複雑な芳香。ナッツやオレンジの皮の風味には、良質のブランデーや、樽内での長期熟成から来る多様で微妙なニュアンスがあり、これがとろりとするような豊潤な口当たりから、長い余韻にまで途切れることなく続く。
単品でいただいても美味しいが、チーズのほか、クランブレーやチョコレートケーキなどのデザートといっしょにいただいても美味しい。alc. 19.5%
