Artesa Estate Reserve Pinot Noir Carneros 2009

Artesa's Estate Pinot Noir Vineyards hang on the hillsides around the winery in the foothills of Mt. Veeder and this wine is produced from two of the highest elevation vineyards in the Carneros appellation. Early summer fog followed by warm summer afternoons creates a climate that allows the fruit to develop intense varietal character. At harvest the grapes display a beautiful balance of fruit and acidity.

Powerful, yet refined, this wine displays elegant aromas of cherry, raspberry, roses, and milk chocolate. The vibrant fruit is enhanced by spicy notes of cedar, clove, bay and cumin. Delicious to drink now but has the structure for long-term aging as well.

アルテサ　エステート　リザーブ　ピノ・ノアール　カーネロス　2009

アルテサのピノ・ノアール自社畑（エステート・ビンヤード）は、ナパのヴィーダー山の麓にあるアルテサのワイナリーを取り巻く傾斜地にある。その中でもこのワインには、ナパバレーのカーネロス地区のなかで最も標高の高い2つのビンヤードからのブドウを使用。初夏の朝霧が午後には晴れて、夏の暖かさが広がる。そんな気候のおかげで、ピノ・ノアール特有の凝縮感のある風味が育ち、収穫時にはフルーティーさと酸味のバランスが素晴らしいブドウとなる。

力強くて、しかも洗練されたこのワインは、チェリーやラズベリー、バラ、ミルク・チョコレートなどのエレガントな芳香が香る。スギやクローブ、ベイ、クミンなどのスパシーな香りのせいで、生き生きしたフルーティーな風味がさらに引き立っている。今飲んでも美味しいが、長く寝かせても美味しくなりそうな骨格も持ち合わせている。
