Azur Sauvignon Blanc Rutherford 2009

Winemaker Julien Fayard brings his Bordeaux sensibility into play here, a reminder of why Rutherford's valley soils deserve attention for white wine. A curious accent of watermelon juice, with apricot skin and lime, and a cool aloe-like presence. There's coiled acidity and a leanness, as though it were slightly twitchy in its energy.

醸造家ジュリアン・フェイヤード氏がこの地に持ち込んだのは、フランスはボルドー地区の繊細さ。ナパバレーのラザフォード地区の土壌が白ワイン用として注目されるべきことを思い出させてくれている。スイカ汁の風味がアクセントとなっていて面白い。アプリコットの皮やライム、冷たいアロエのような風味もある。酸味がしっかりしていて、全体が引き締まっている。あたかも、自らのエネルギーに感電してわずかに震えるよう。
