Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay Napa Valley 2010

Cakebread Cellars was born over 30 years ago when founder Jack Cakebread came to Napa Valley to photograph it for a book and ended up buying a ranch! Their first vintage--157 cases of 1973 Chardonnay - was just the beginning. Today Cakebread continues the tradition of making iconic wines from vineyard properties located up and down the Napa Valley.

The 2009 vintage of Cakebread Chardonnay boasts of lovely, perfumed aromas of fresh melon, yellow apple, lime and white peach. On the palate the wine offers concentrated, beautifully focused, peach, apple and citrus zest flavors, with mineral and spice tones.

ジャック・ケークブレッド（Jack Cakebread ）氏が写真集に載せる写真をナパバレーに撮りに来て、結局牧場を買ってしまったのが始まり。30年以上昔のこと。ケークブレッドの初ヴィンテージは1973年のシャルドネ、157ケース。今日でも、ナパバレーの各地にもつ自社畑からのブドウを使って、高品質ワインを造りつづけている。

2009年ヴィンテージのケークブレッド・シャルドネは、新鮮なメロンや黄リンゴ、ライム、白桃の愛らしい芳香が誇らしげに香る。口中ではピーチやリンゴ、柑橘系の皮のしっかりとした風味が広がる。ミネラルやスパイスのニュアンスもある。
