Cimarossa, "red hill top", is one of Howell Mountain's most scenic estates, with terraced vineyards and olive groves climbing the hillsides. Proprietor Dino Dina planted the vines and olive trees in the eastern hills of Napa Valley, above St. Helena, back in 1998. He felt the red volcanic soils covering Howell Mountain's lava cap provided the perfect soil for this venture.

This Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Riva di Ponente, a hand-farmed, terraced, 1.4 acre vineyard with western exposure. The wine has deep ruby hues with aromas of black-raspberry cobbler and roasted espresso beans with a hint of minerality, reminiscent to rose petals and jasmine tea. Full flavors of dark berry fruits fill the palate followed by a touch of bitter-sweet chocolate. Fleshy and balanced, this wine has a wonderful concentration of flavor and a long, silky finish.

シマロッサ　「ハウエル・マウンテン」　カベルネ・ソービニオン　2006

「赤い頂上」を意味するシマロッサは景色の良いハウエル山(ナパバレーの東側の丘)にあるビンヤードの中でも特に美しい。ビンヤードとオリーブの林が丘の斜面に広がっている。このハウエル山にオーナーであるディノ・ディナ氏がブドウとオリーブを植栽したのは1998年のこと。火山岩層を覆う赤色の火山性表土が最適と判断したからだ。

このハウエル・マウンテン・カベルネ・ソービニオンには西向きの丘陵にある1.4エーカーのビンヤードで丹念に育てられてブドウを使用。深いルビー色。ブラック・ラズベリー・コブラーとローストしたエスプレッソ・コーヒー豆の香りの中にミネラルやバラの花びら、ジャスミン茶が微かに香る。広がるダーク・ベリー系のフルーツの風味にはほろ苦いチョコレートの風味も加わる。新鮮でバランスのとれたこの逸品は、風味の凝縮感が滑らかな余韻となって長くつづく。
