Vermeil Zinfandel 1908 Luvisi Vineyard Calistoga 2009

Dick Vermeil, legendary NFL Super Bowl winning coach and winemaker Paul Smith have turned a long time friendship into a successful wine venture in Calistoga, where Vermeil was raised.

Born in Luvisi's dry-farmed block of Zinfandel planted in 1908, this wine features brilliant hues of garnet and purple. Intense aromas of peppery black and red berries. Taste bright strawberry, juicy blackberry and lively blueberry flavors. Great old-vine concentration with easy tannins and a smooth finish.

ディック・バーミール氏（元アメリカン・ナショナル・フットボール・リーグのスーパーボール優勝チーム監督）と醸造家であるポール・スミス氏の長年の友人関係がナパバレーのカリストガでのワイン造りでの成功につながった。それがバーミール。

ルヴィシ・ビンヤードの、乾燥農法でジンファンデールを栽培するブロックに、ブドウが植栽されたのは1908年。このブドウを使ったワインの色は暗紅色/紫色。ピリッとしたブラックベリーやレッドベリーの香り。鮮やかなイチゴやジューシーなブラックベリー、生き生きとしたブルーベリーの風味。樹齢の古い樹のブドウに特有な、凝縮感のある、タンニンの優しい、滑らかな余韻。
