Flux Red Wine California 2008
Mark Herold, winemaker extraordinaire, has been involved with the best, most sought after wines in Napa Valley, including Merus, Bucella, Kamen, Hestan and of course, Kobalt.
The 2008 Flux is his inaugural wine blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Petite Sirah. The fruit is sourced from Mendocino, Lodi and Lake Counties.
Emanating from the glass is a deep perfume of roasted black cherry, brambly mountain berry, dried flower, orange peel, tobacco, oak and suede. The full-bodied palate is dense with rich notes of dark sweet fruit and chocolate, framed against a wall of integrated tannins. Enjoy this wine over the next 10 years.

メラスやブチェラ、カーメン、ヘスタン、コバルト等、ナパバレーで人気の高い数々のワインにたずさわってきたあの銘醸造家マーク・ヘロルド氏の作。
2008年のフラックスは、グレナシュ、シラー、カリニャン、プチ・シラーを使用したブレンドとしては氏にとってはじめてのもの。同じ北カリフォルニアのメンドシーノ、ローダイ、レークの各郡からのブドウを使用。
ローストしたブラックチェリーやブランブリー・マウンテン・ベリー、ドライフラワー、オレンジの皮、タバコ、オーク、スエードの深い芳香がグラスから香ってくる。フルボディーで、黒色系、赤色系の甘いフルーツやチョコレートなどの凝縮感のある風味がバランスの取れたタンニンの壁に縁取られている。今後10年は飲み頃が続く。
