Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2008

Hall's wines are made by the infamous winemaking consultant David Ramey. HALL's estate vineyards encompass more than five hundred acres of classic Bordeaux varietals; Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc. As winegrowers, the Halls have a strong respect for the environment and a commitment to cutting-edge vineyard technology to yield the highest quality grapes. It was the first California winery to achieve LEED Gold Certification, they are in the final stages of having the last of their expansive estate vineyards certified organic, and they even use bio-diesel to fuel their farming equipment.

The 2008 Hall Cab is amazing! A deep garnet color with aromas of marion berry, brambly fruit, Asian spice, and dark chocolate lead to lush flavors of cassis, anise, earth and opulent fruit. Delicious now, this wine will continue to gain complexity for 10+ years. An incredible value for this 2008 Napa Cab.

ホールのワインは名声を誇るワイン醸造コンサルタント、デービッド・レイミー氏による。500エーカー以上ある自社畑では伝統的なフランスのボルドータイプの品種（カベルネ・ソービニオン、メルロー、ソービニオン・ブラン）を栽培。ブドウ栽培者として環境に高い敬意を払い、最新のビンヤード栽培技術を駆使して最高品質のブドウ作りに専念している。カリフォルニアで初めてアメリカ環境対策認証でゴールド認証を受けたのはこのホール。その広大な自社畑は現在では有機栽培認証を受ける最終段階に入っており、ビンヤードで使う農機具にも有機燃料を使用する念の入れよう。

2008年のカベルネ・ソービニオンは驚異。色はどこまでも深い暗紅色。マリオンベリーやブランブリーフルーツ、アジア系スパイス、ダークチョコレートの香りが、黒スグリやアニス、土、フルーツなどの豊潤な風味へと導く。今飲んでも美味しく、10年以上待っても複雑さが増して美味しくいただけるだろう。価値の高い逸品。
