Lasseter Estate "Chemin de Fer" Red Blend Sonoma 2009

Justi Creek Vineyard and the Lasseter Family Winery are part of a beautiful 95 acre ranch in Sonoma Valley on the outskirts of the town of Glen Ellen. The three red Rhone varietals in this wine, Syrah 20%, Grenache 41% and Mourvèdre 20%, were planted in 2001 on the valley floor along Calabasas Creek. A steam train meanders through this ten-acre Lower Justi block. "Chemin de Fer" means railroad.

Deep garnet in color, this wine has aromas of raspberry and spice, followed with mouth-watering berry flavors, harmonizing with soft, supple tannins for a smooth finish. It is a well-blanaced wine that is easy to pair and easy to drink. Only 181 cases produced.

Lasseter Family Winery is beginning to make a statement in the wine industry although John, animation pioneer at Pixar, has long been making a statement in the film industry. Director of five feature films, including "Toy Story", "Cars" and soon-to-be-released "Cars 2", he is now chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

ラッシータ・エステート　「シュナン・デ・フェル」　赤ブレンド　ソノマ　2009

ジャスティ・クリーク・ビンヤードとラッシータ・ワイナリーはソノマ・バレーの美しい農場（広さは95エーカー）にある。グレン・エレンの町外れに当たる。このワインに含まれている、フランスのローヌ地方の品種であるシラー（20%）とグレナシュ（41%）、ムルヴェードル（20%）の3種は、ソノマ・バレーの谷床部のカラバサス・クリーク川に沿って2001年に植栽されたものから。この10エーカーのロアー・ジャスティ・ブロックの中を蒸気機関車がくねって走る。「シュナン・デ・フェル」は鉄道の意。

色は深い赤。ラズベリーとスパイスの香りの後に、よだれを誘うようなベリーの風味が続く。風味はやがてソフトでしなやかなタンニンと相まって滑らかな余韻へとつながる。バランスが良いこのワインは食事と合わせるのも簡単で、飲みやすい。わずか181ケースのみの限定生産。

「トイ・ストーリー」や「カー」そしてリリース間近の「カー２」など、ピクサー（Pixer）のアニメ映画5本を監督するジョン・ラッシータ氏。今やディズニーのアニメーション・スタジオのチーフ・クリエーティブ・オフィサーである。氏の映画界での活躍は目覚しいが、氏のラッシータ・ファミリー・ワイナリーもワイン産業で頭角をあらわし始めている。
