This wine is modeled after Chardonnays from the Chablis region of France. Finesse and minerality are derived from the second vintage of this wine by father and son grape growers Lupe and Hugo Maldonado. The nose is pieced together by threads of fresh lemons, white flowers, hints of pineapple and a touch of French oak. Flavors fall equally in line with more fresh citrus and crisp acidity. Rich yet refreshing with a ton of layers and complexity. 97% Maldonado Vineyard Chardonnay, 3% Viognier, Baraneck Vineyard - 150 cases

マルドナード　シャルドネ　「ロス・オリボス・ビンヤード」　ナパ・バレー　2008　

フランスのシャブリのシャルドネを手本として造られているワイン。マルドナード父子が造るこの2年目のヴィンテージはフィネスとミネラル感が素晴らしい。もぎたてのレモンや白い花に、かすかなパイナップルやフレンチ・オークの香りが数珠繋ぎにくり出す。それにマッチするかのようなシトラス系フルーツの新鮮な風味とキリッとした酸味が楽しい。幾層にも渡る複雑な風味は豊潤だが、清涼感にも溢れる。自社畑からのシャルドネ97%とバラネック・ビンヤードからのヴィオニエ3%のブレンド。わずか150ケースのみの限定生産。
