Meander Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2006

Winemaker/owner Amy Aiken began her love affair with Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in the late 1980s when she began her winemaking career at Joseph Phelps Vineyards. In 2000 Amy decided it was time to fashion her own wine from two of Napa Valley's finest vineyards, Morisoli in the Rutherford AVA and Lewelling in the St. Helena foothills.

The 2006 Meander Cab is a dark ruby color, offers dense fruit and a strong backbone. It delivers strong aromatics and intense flavors of black cherry, cola and cocoa. Bold and still youthful, with well integrated, approachable tannins, this 2006 Cab will benefit from a few years in the bottle. Only 570 cases produced.

ミアンダー・セラーズ　カベルネ・ソービニオン　ナパ・バレー　2006

 醸造家でありオーナーでもあるエイミー・エイキン女史がナパ・バレーのカベルネ・ソービニオンに夢中になり始めたのは1980年代後半のこと。ジョセフ・フェルペス・ビンヤードで醸造家を務め始めた時だ。そして、ナパ・バレー、ラザフォード地区にあるモリソリとセント・ヘレナ山の麓にあるレウェリングという2つの優れた畑からのブドウを使って自分のワインを造ろうと決めたのは2000年。

2006年のミアンダーのカベルネは暗いルビー色。凝縮感のある風味としっかりした骨格。ブラック・チェリーやコーラ、ココアの強い香りと風味。大胆で若い。バランスがよくタンニンもなじみやすい。何年か寝かせるとさらに良くなるだろう。わずか570ケースのみの限定生産。
