Yorba Syrah Amador County Shake Ridge Vineyards 2006

Shake Ridge Vineyards is located in the Sierra Foothills Amador County. It was originally settled in the 1870's by Italian immigrants who hand cleared a portion of the ranch. Although too late for the Gold Rush, they raised cattle, established fruit and olive orchards, tended vegetable plots, and cultivated wine grapes to provide 'vittles' to the mining camps. After the camps closed, the ranch reverted to pastureland for over eighty years, until the Kraemer family planted Zinfandel, Rhone varietals, Barbera, Tempranillo and Petite Sirah in 2003.

Opulent, lush fruit with layers of blackberry preserves, currant, red licorice with hints of crushed black pepper, vanilla and leather. Try with rosemary crusted roast lamb.

ヤーバ　シラー　アマドー郡　シェーク・リッジ・ビンヤード　2006

シェーク・リッジ・ビンヤードは、シエラ山脈の麓に位置するアマドー郡にある。元を正せば、1870年代にイタリア系移民が自らの手で農地を切り開いた定住した場所。ゴールド・ラッシュには間に合わず、牧場や果樹園、野菜畑、そして、「ヴィトレス」の名で鉱夫たちに売るワイン用のブドウを耕作した。鉱夫たちがいなくなると、農地は牧場に姿を変えた。80年間続いた。そして、2003年にクレーマー家がその地に、ジンファンデールやローヌ系品種、バベラ、テンプラニーヨ、プチ・シラーを植栽し、ヤーバが始まった。

ブラックベリー・ジャムや黒スグリ、レッド・リコリスが何層にも香る贅沢な風味。砕いた黒胡椒やバニラ、皮革も微かに香る。マリアージュは、ローズマリー風味のロースト・ラムがお勧め。
