In 1880, two brothers, James and William Rennie, said goodbye to their native Scotland and set sail to California with high ambitions in the Napa Valley. Five years later, they had built a stone winery and planted 60 acres of vines in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. Today, the same historic estate is owned by the Cathiard family.
