Judd's Hill Petite Sirah "Old Vine" Lodi 2010

Discreetly tucked to the side of famed Silverado Trail, acclaimed and local's favorite Judds Hill feels like a secret discovery. Hustle, bustle, and corporate scales have no place here. Instead, Judd's Hill is a family-owned, cheerful, eco-conscious, critically acclaimed, artsy smash hit... with the added bonus of chickens clucking outside the vines! Named for Art's son, Judd's Hill wines are carefully crafted from fruit produced from the family's 18 acres of vines on Howell Mountain as well as ultra-premium sourced grapes from artisan vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Focusing on robust wines with magnetic Napa fruit, the family's approach to producing softer edged Napa wines put Judd's Hill on the map.
This vintage of Judd's Hill Old Vine Petite Sirah is concentrated and opulent, while maintaining a food-friendly balance. The nose is rich with black currant, Bing cherries and brambly berry aromas. When tasting the wine, you won't have to work too hard to identify its robust flavors. It is concentrated and smoky with flavors of boysenberry pie, currant and quince.
