Orin Swift "Mercury Head" Napa Valley 2019

Mercury Head is the slang term for the authentic Liberty Dime which serves as the wine's "front label", yes it's real.  You could drink this wine now or cellar for up to 10 years. “Morisoli” Rutherford & “Taplin” St. Helena sourced fruit for this wine. 

Opens with aromas of cassis, cocoa and boysenberry. Big and lush with bright, voluptuous blackberry and Bing cherry flavors on the palate. The mouth is rich, forward and approachable with a hint of toasty oak. Great structure, balance and acidity. The finish is long and soft with strong well integrated tannins.

「マーキュリー・ヘッド」は「リバティー・ダイム（自由の女神像の横顔が彫られている１０セントコイン）」の通称。これがこのワインのフロント・ラベルとなっている。もちろん正真正銘、本物のコイン。

黒スグリやスミレ、ボイズンベリーの熟した香りが導く口当たりは豊潤。ブラックベリーやダークチェリーの鮮やかで官能的な風味が口中に大きく広がる。トーストしたオークの香りも微かに漂う。しっかりとした骨格。バランスもよく、酸味も美しい。余韻はソフトで、熟したタンニンの風味が非常に長く続く。

今いただいても美味しいが、１０年ぐらいまでなら寝かしても美味しくいただける。ナパバレーのラザフォード地区とセント・ヘレナ地区からのブドウを使用。
