This is a take-no-prisoner-style blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and aged in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak. Burly, but somehow also elegant, it is teeming with red fruits and layers of tannic structure. It is the sort of red you want on a chilly evening, after a hard day, with something sustaining and equally delicious, like short ribs. The wine has a deep ruby red hue that is framed in rich garnet. Aromas of black cherry and plum, surrounded by roasted coffee beans and vanillin oak accents. The entry is powerful and lush with flavors of bing cherry, blueberry and cocoa. Soft and velvety tannins round out the finish making this wine approachable and inviting.
