Rombauer Merlot Napa Valley 2016

When the Rombauers moved to Napa Valley in 1972 they had no intention of starting a winery. They did, however, have a great appreciation for the role of wine in the fine dining experience. Koerner Rombauer's great aunt Irma Rombauer was author of the internationally renowned cookbook "The Joy of Cooking." It didn't take long in their new surroundings before they became fascinated with the wine industry and the Rombauer's became partners in Conn Creek Winery. In 1980 the Rombauers had become interested in making wine under their own label and started the Rombauer label.

Enticing and lively red color; beautifully aromatics with black cherry and ripe plum. On the palate a purity of blackcurrant, cedar and mint flavors blend together seamlessly. Soft and supple, this wine has a medium-bodied mouth-feel with plush tannins that integrate with the generous finish.
